Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Pancakes

Okay, just slap me now! Here I go again with another heart shaped food. I think this might be my last for a while so just indulge me one more time. I couldn't help myself. I was making pancakes and naturally though about hearts, it's on the brain. I did do a couple of E's (for Ellie & Emma). I thought it would be fun plus I was going crazy for my super cool pancake batter dispenser I got from William's Sonoma.

If you make lots of pancakes and want to have some fun with them, I would highly recommend one of these. The batter comes out nice and controlled to allow you to make just about any shape you want. Here is a new pancake recipe for you. It comes from Cooks.com. I made a few changes to the original noted below. Hope you enjoy!

Whole Wheat Peanut Butter Pancakes

2 cups whole wheat flour (I used white wheat flour)
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp.salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
3 Tbsp. sugar (my addition)
2 eggs, well beaten
2 cups milk
2 Tbsp. canola oil
1 tsp. vanilla
3 Tbsp. peanut butter, melted
3 Tbsp. chocolate chips (I used about 1/3 cup mini chips)

Stir together the dry ingredients. In a separate bowl mix the eggs, milk, vanilla and oil. Stir the wet into the dry until moistened. Stir in the melted peanut butter and chocolate chips. Cook on preheated pan until bubbles appear. Flip and cook until lightly browned.

Hi there! My friend Crystal told me about your blog and I've tried several of your recipes, and have loved them all. I too have two little girls, Hailey - 4 and Brooklyn 6months. We tried these pancakes last night for our breakfast for dinner night. They were delicious! My husband and 4 year old love peanut butter. Thanks for the great blog and recipe ideas. I am quite grateful!
